Solid Stainless Balls, Produced to Order

This range covers solid stainless steel balls produced at our own plant and supplied factory-direct, so you buy from the line that makes them rather than through a trading layer. Both materials and both grades run as standard production rather than as one-off work. Buyers take them for first-fit production and for spare parts, wherever a small round component has to seat, seal or circulate reliably.

Material and Grade Options

• 304 stainless steel balls — the general-purpose austenitic grade, suited to water, mild chemical contact and everyday washdown, and the usual choice where the ball never meets aggressive media.
• 316 — the step up for harsher service: it holds its finish in marine atmospheres and in sulfuric acid, and it is the material used with phosphoric and acetic acid in chemical, papermaking and textile plant.
• 316L — the low-carbon version of 316, with the same corrosion behavior plus better resistance in service; it is the grade normally specified for jewelry and implant applications.
• Grade choice — both grades are precision steel balls sorted to different tolerance bands: G100 runs tighter and suits assemblies that need smooth, quiet running, while G200 is the economical option where the seat, raceway or housing already guides the ball.
• Duty check — tell us the medium the ball will contact and we will tell you which of the two main materials we normally run for that duty.

Where These Balls Are Used

• Valves and pumps — specialty bearings and pump bodies, valve seats and seam valves for chemical, naval and aerospace equipment, where the ball has to seat or circulate cleanly inside the housing.
• Aerosol and spray hardware — aerosol pumps, garden and household sprayers, and agricultural backpack sprayers.
• Food, medical and personal care — food-handling hardware, medical application valves and perfume dispensers that need a clean stainless surface.
• Dosing hardware — pre-compressed spice pumps and similar equipment where the ball seats against a spring.
• Chemical, papermaking and textile plant — 316 stainless steel balls are the material used where sulfuric, phosphoric or acetic acid is present.
• Repair and replacement — balls for repair shops and hardware suppliers working on equipment that is already in service.

Diameter Selection and Measuring

• Measure first — check the worn ball across two or three directions, plus the bore it seats in, to see whether an exact replacement fits.
• Diameter range — stainless steel balls from 0.3 mm to 50.8 mm, which also covers drawings written in inches.
• Fit and clearance — a ball that sits loosely will not guide, and one pressed in marks the housing; send the bore diameter to confirm the size.
• Sizing up or down — if a worn seat leaves visible play, step up one nominal size and check the fit; 304 stainless steel balls are made across the range, so the material stays the same.
